Old tyres, a compound of rubber, carbon black, chemical additives, fiber, steel wire, etc., which can make highly desirable alternative fuels via pyrolysis. For the TDF(tire derived fuel), there are mainly three types:
1. Fuel oil: The fuel oil(pyrolysis oil) produced by the pyrolysis process can be used as fuel, primarily used for industrial purposes, such as brick plant, steel plant, glass plant, cement plant, heavy oil generator, etc. According to the statistics, the calorific value of the fuel oil obtained from oil tyres is 10300kcal, burn 25-50% more heat than coal, 100-200% more than wood, the density is 0.91-0.93g/cm3, and there is no water and no mechanical impurities.

2. Carbon black: The carbon black produced from oil tyres via waste tyre pyrolysis machine has a high calorific value, reaching up to 7,000 kcal, which is comparable to that of coal. Consequently, when processed into briquettes using a briquetting machine, carbon black can effectively replace coal for industrial heating, offering significant industrial utility and value.

3. Syn-gas: Syn-gas is mainly methane, an important source of energy that can be used to generate electricity or as a fuel. Also, in the pyrolysis process, we can use it as heating fuel to heat the pyrolysis reactor to save running costs.

However, the fuel oil obtained from old tyres is only an industrial heating fuel and can be used as an alternative fuel, but it cannot be used directly in an engine. So to meet the demand of further improving the oil quality of some customers, DOING also provides the pyrolysis oil refining plant in addition to the waste tyre pyrolysis machine. These two equipment can help our customers recycle old tyres to diesel oil directly, and receive lots of good feedback from our customers. The following is one project running site video of DOING customer of the waste tyre pyrolysis machine and pyrolysis oil refining plant:
The uses of TDF(tire derived fuel) from old tyres as alternative fuels have great potential in different industrial fields, which not only can solve the environmental problem of oil tyres compared with the common landfilling and incineration methods, but also provide sustainable energy for industrial production. If you are also interested in recycling old tyres to tire derived fuels, just feel free to contact us, our sales manager can share a more detailed machine scheme for you.
